One thing that I always seem to spend a lot of time agonising over and debating is what to put in your kit bag ? Photographers quite often want to show us the vast array of shite that they carry around with them to shoot that perfect image. Lights, pocket wizards, lenses galore, several camera bodies etc etc etc etc, but is carrying all that excess baggage good ?
I am still not sure to be honest I often wish for a simple camera with a single lense. A bag full of kit distracts you from the subject and presents almost too many ideas and possibilities at times……..
I guess for me that is why I love the latest generation of digital compacts and what you can achieve with them. Here are some example of what you can expect off the Panasonic dmc-tz5.
Don’t get me wrong, at the end of the day, they are what they are and they do have plenty of limitations and drawbacks, but it is always worth remembering ‘the best camera in the world is the one you have in your pocket all the time’.
The 2009 Gold Rush Challenge took place this weekend at Britannia Beach, located on the Sea to Sky Highway, 15 minutes south of Squamish. The Gold Rush event is a challenging longboarding race down a super steep – 1000 ft vertical, 3.5 km track, with several sharp switchbacking corners to navigate at ridiculous speeds.
The weather was amazing. Bluebird skies made for a perfect venue. On the track the action was pretty intense with several high speeds spills and carange filled runs…….
Thank you to the communtiy in Britannia beach for being open minded enough to allow events like this to happen….
